A 49-year-old man lost his life in a tragic road accident that took place in the Pandav Nagar area late Wednesday night after reportedly being hit by a heavy vehicle and falling from a flyover onto the service road below, police said.
“The incident was reported around 12:03 am on Thursday, when a PCR call was received at Pandav Nagar police station regarding an accident near the Manglam Cut on NH-24,” said a senior police officer.

With this information, a team reached the spot and found a Honda City car and a scooter in damaged condition, the officer said.

While conducting an inquiry into this matter, it came out that the deceased, Rakesh Kumar Agarwal, from Ghaziabad’s Vasundhara, was grievously injured in the accident.
After the incident, he was rushed to LBS Hospital by an auto driver, Amit Kumar, with the help of bystanders; however, the attending doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.
The auto driver, Kumar, who also complained, told the police that he saw the man fall from the flyover while driving his auto towards Ghazipur. He alleged that an unknown heavy vehicle may have struck the victim, leading to his fatal fall.
On the basis of the statement provided by the complainant, an FIR has been registered under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Further investigation is ongoing to trace the vehicle involved in the accident by scanning the CCTV footage from the area to ascertain the sequence of events.
“The victim’s family has been informed, and necessary legal proceedings are being carried out,” said an officer.
